Good nutrition and academic success go hand in hand! Our Food Services Department consists of a team of food and nutrition professionals dedicated to students' health, well-being, and their ability to learn. We support academic success by providing healthy meal choices while promoting lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Nutritional Excellence

All of our school campuses participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). The NSLP is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritionally balanced meals under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) to all students at no cost. The food and beverages we serve on our campuses meet the state and federal requirements, which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.

Breakfast

Did you know that breakfast increases your child’s brain power? Our bodies convert breakfast food into energy for use by our brain. When children skip breakfast, they must rely on the energy from their last meal to fuel their brain. Without breakfast, kids typically have a gap of 12 hours or more between dinner and lunch. School breakfast ensures your child starts the day well-nourished and ready to learn.

Snacks

Otto-Eldred also participates in the federally funded CACFP snack program. This program provides after-school snacks to all students at no charge. We serve snacks immediately after school until 3:30 p.m. in each of our cafeterias.

Meal Pricing and Lunch Information

Otto-Eldred School District offers a daily breakfast and lunch program to all students. The district has been approved for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This program is available to schools and districts that are participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. All enrolled students of the Otto-Eldred School District are eligible to receive a nutritional breakfast and lunch each school day at no charge to your household. No application or additional paperwork is required.
