A Message from Our Superintendent

Dear Community,

Welcome to Otto-Eldred’s website! We are proud to present you with this communication vehicle, where you can keep up-to-date and informed about all our programs and services.

At Otto-Eldred, our focus is your students. With every decision we make, we ask this central question: what is best for our students? Our school board, our administration, our faculty, and our support staff make up a unique environment that represents the tremendous community in which we operate.

We have made many wonderful improvements at Otto-Eldred, all with a goal of moving toward a more personalized learning environment for students. We encourage all community members to stay updated by accessing our website, checking our Facebook page, attending board meetings, and by visiting either building.

The needs of our students are changing and so are we!

An Important Message

Dear Otto-Eldred Parents/Guardians,

On Monday, October 15, 2018, the Otto-Eldred School District will be conducting a required lockdown drill in each building. Local law enforcement will be on site to assist with the drill and help school personnel debrief on the effectiveness of established protocols. The drills will take place as follows:

  • High School: 8:15 to 9:45 a.m.
  • Elementary School: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

We will not permit entry into the building to anyone during the lockdown drill, and we will not take any phone calls during this time. Please plan accordingly.

Keep in mind this is only a drill. The intent is to review procedures with students and provide them with a better understanding of how to stay safe in a true emergency. This is an educational activity, and we will make every attempt to reduce any fear and anxiety that may arise. Our goal is to promote confidence and understanding. Please take the next few days to discuss school safety with your child and emphasize the importance of practicing safety procedures. We greatly appreciate your support.

If you have any questions regarding these drills, please feel free to contact a building principal or Mr. Splain. We are happy to answer your questions.
