Wellness

Otto-Eldred School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to students’ well-being, growth, development, and readiness to learn. We are committed to providing a school environment that promotes student and faculty wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that can improve student achievement.

We invite the public to join our committee and become involved in the development, review, update, and implementation of our wellness policy at any time throughout the school year. Please email Sophia Graham with questions or to join.

Wellness Meeting Dates

We invite you to attend our wellness meetings. They are held in the first floor conference room (room 111) in the high school at 3:00 p.m. Check out the meeting schedule below.

March is Nutrition Month

Just as cars need gasoline to run, bodies need nutrients like vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates to grow up healthy. To be your healthiest, you need to give your body the right kinds and amounts of food. Fruits and vegetables have important nutrients to keep your body healthy. Make half of your plate fruits and vegetables!

Please see our Eat Right flyer for more food, nutrition, and health tips from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
