Food Services
Good nutrition and academic success go hand in hand! Our Food Services Department consists of a team of food and nutrition professionals dedicated to students' health, well-being, and their ability to learn. We support academic success by providing healthy meal choices while promoting lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Nutritional Excellence
All of our school campuses participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). The NSLP is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritionally balanced, low cost or free meals to qualifying students. The food and beverages we serve on our campuses meet the state and federal requirements, which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We encourage our families to apply for meal benefits by completing a Free and Reduced Meal Application. Please remember that all students who qualify for free or reduced lunches also qualify for free breakfasts.
Breakfast
Did you know that breakfast increases your child’s brain power? Our bodies convert breakfast food into energy for use by our brain. When children skip breakfast, they must rely on the energy from their last meal to fuel their brain. Without breakfast, kids typically have a gap of 12 hours or more between dinner and lunch. School breakfast ensures your child starts the day well-nourished and ready to learn.
Snacks
Otto-Eldred also participates in the federally funded CACFP snack program. This program provides after-school snacks to all students at no charge. We serve snacks immediately after school until 3:30 p.m. in each of our cafeterias.
Free and Reduced Lunch
Due to federal waivers being lifted and having to follow USDA guidelines, the Otto-Eldred Schools will be returning to paid lunches. If you feel you qualify for free or reduced meals at any time during the school year, please apply online at School Cafe' or contact Chris Krott, Food Service Director by phone (814) 817-1386 or by email.
